Whernside is the highest of the 3 Yorkshire Peaks. It is 2400 ft above sea level and is sometimes referred to as the roof of Yorkshire. The Ribblehead viaduct passes to the side of Whernside, and there are some attractive rivers and waterfalls on its flanks.
