Ingleborough is the most popular of the 3 Yorkshire Peaks and is easily accessed just outside the village of Ingleton, on the road to Hawes. One of the most famous potholes in the country lies midway up the lea slope of Ingleborough, namely Gaping Gill, which has a 400 metre vertical drop from the surface, and whose main cavern is large enough to house St Pauls Cathedral. Ingleborough has a vast underground network of limestone caves, 2 of which are open as show caves.
