Gaping Gill lies on the lea slope of Ingleborough and emerges suddenly as a 400 metre vertical shaft. At the bottom of the pot is a huge cavern, large enough to fit St Pauls Cathedral. Each May Bank Holiday a jig is erected over the pot and members of the public can be winched down (for a small fee).
