Littondale runs from Horton Moor near Plover Hill and Penyghent into Wharfedale, which in joins near Kinsey. A minor road runs throughout most of its length. The River Skirfare, which springs near the head of Littondale, runs through the small hamlet of Foxup, then through Halton Gill and into the village of Litton. Leaving Litton the river broadens in size, reching the beautiful village of Arndale where it next flows past Hawkscliffe and then to join the Wharfe near Kinsey.
Littondale is a beautiful, wide valley. The road and footpath are, for most of the time, sufficiently distant from the road as to not be affected thereby.
