There are many castles in the Yorkshire Dales. Some of them are well preserved, as for example Skipton Castle, pictured above. Many others are in ruins. Well worth visiting are Knaresborough Castle, Middleham Castle, Richmond Castle, Bowes Castle and Hellifield Peel.
